Our Mission
Our Vision
All children have access to inspiring educational environments that foster social, emotional and academic development, regardless of their background.
Our Mission
We work to foster community-based solutions to complex issues facing the education system so that children growing up in poverty have access to high quality educational resources and support.
We do this by:
- taking a systems thinking approach to our work, engaging those most directly impacted by the problem in identifying the solution
- understanding that there are no simple solutions to complex problems
- co-designing sustainable strategies for change with stakeholders in education, recognizing that their expertise is essential for design and implementation
Our Values
Our focus is first and foremost on children and families. We care about the well-being of the whole student: social, emotional, physical, and academic. We seek to meet the needs of children and families across our region’s schools.
We value the voices of those who have proximity to the education space and view lived experience as expertise. We work to understand the unique context of each community and adapt to the needs of our partners.
We apply a racial and socioeconomic equity lens, seeking out traditionally underrepresented people and amplifying their voices. We are accountable to those who have the closest proximity to the system, and they should benefit the most from our work.
We provide and apply rigorous, well-researched best practices. All work is done to the highest standard possible.
We collaborate with partners to foster a feedback perspective when uncovering the system dynamics of interventions in education. We seek to understand existing and generate new feedback loops in a system that can create or hinder efforts to ensure long-term positive benefits for students and their families, especially those who are most affected by poverty.
We strive to create an environment of high trust and transparency with our partners. We are a learning organization, so when we make mistakes (which we will), we are quick to own them and work to amend them.
